What this mod does
Winter’s Touch, by swag asiatka, turns on a snow feature that, according to the author, arrived hidden in the 1.53 update. The author found snow parameters in the map editor’s weather editor that only apply at below-freezing temperatures. So he set the weather profiles to sub-zero temperatures, which means it snows only in bad weather. It has over 110,000 subscribers.
What it does and doesn’t do
It only adds falling snow. Roads don’t look snow-covered.
Compatibility
- Frosty Winter Weather Mod, by Grimes: it’s compatible, but you have to edit it by hand. Open frosty.scs with an archiver like WinRAR and, in the def folder, delete climate.sii, promods.climate.sii and the climate folder.
- Weather 2.0: there’s a separate add-on that only needs Weather 2.0, not this mod.
Version
The description opens by saying it works on 1.57. It only has one changelog entry, from November 29, 2024. One user says it works for them with no issues on 1.60.
The author says he’ll take it down once Grimes officially adds snow to his mod. It’s about 2 MB.

How to install it
- Open the "Winter's Touch" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- If you use Frosty Winter Weather Mod, edit its file as the author explains before playing.
- Load your save and wait for bad weather to see it snow.
Common problems
Do roads look snow-covered?
No: it only adds falling snow.
Is it compatible with Frosty Winter?
Yes, if you delete the climate.sii and promods.climate.sii files and the climate folder from frosty.scs.
When does it snow?
Only in bad weather, because the author set the profiles to sub-zero temperatures.
