What this mod does
Real life day and night duration is a mod by kworey that makes days and nights in Euro Truck Simulator 2 last as long as they do in real life. Sunrise and sunset times depend on the latitude of the map area you’re driving through and, if you have time zones enabled, on the longitude too.
How it works
- It calculates sunrise and sunset based on your position on the map.
- The author updates it daily so it matches the real day.
- It doesn’t change how fast time passes in the game.
- It leaves the storm probability at SCS’s value.
Load order and compatibility
Place it above any weather mod in the Mod Manager. With modded maps, the author explains that whether it works depends on whether they redefine the map projection. It can be used as an optional mod in Convoy, but not on TruckersMP.
Version and common questions
The author doesn’t state the game version; the last update is from October 14, 2026. If your headlights look very weak at night or there are lots of storms, the author clarifies that the mod doesn’t touch headlights and that the storm frequency is the stock one.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Wait for Steam to finish the download.

Common problems
Does it change the speed of time?
No: it only changes when the sun rises and sets.
Are there too many storms?
The author leaves SCS's stock probability (0.37).
Does it work on TruckersMP?
No; it does as an optional mod in Convoy.
Does it work with modded maps?
It depends on whether the map redefines the projection.
