What this mod does
Grass 4.0 lite, by dirceu junior, changes the grass in Euro Truck Simulator 2. It’s the lite version of his grass mod: it has less vegetation variety and a simpler design than the full one. It has over 105,000 subscribers. The same author makes the Weather 3.9 weather mod.
Compatibility
- According to the author, it’s compatible with every modded map.
- Any load order should work.
- It’s not compatible with Grimes’s mods.
Version
The description says it’s compatible with 1.60. The latest update is from June 21, 2026. Heads-up: the page text still calls it «grass_3.8 lite», even though the title says 4.0.
Size
Even though it’s the lite version, it’s almost 2.7 GB. Make sure you have free space and be patient with the Steam download. The author says the full version is published on the SCS website, but doesn’t include the link.
If it crashes
In May 2026 a user reported a game crash with an earlier version. The author replied that it was already fixed and recommended signing out of Steam and back in to get the update.

How to install it
- Open the "Grass_4.0_lite" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Don't combine it with Grimes's mods.
- Load your save and look at the grass on the roadsides and in the fields.
