What this mod does
LuckPerms is the permissions manager behind thousands of Minecraft servers, brought to Hytale on the same codebase. It lets you decide what each player can do by creating groups (user, VIP, moderator, admin…) with their own permissions.
What it offers
- Groups with inheritance, ranks, prefixes and suffixes.
- Web editor: /lp editor gives you a link to manage permissions from your browser.
- Several storage options, MongoDB among them.
- Compatible with mods that check permissions the standard way; EliteEssentials and Essentials Plus read its groups and prefixes.
Watch out with /op
With LuckPerms installed, /op and /perm no longer work the way you’d expect for players. To grant full access, use /lp user <player> permission set * or do it through an admin group. If you don’t know which permission a command needs, verbose mode shows it.
Chat formatting is no longer included: the author recommends their mini-chat-formatter mod. The official download is on luckperms.net, in the Hytale section (version 5.5.87, beta).
This mod page was checked with Hytale 0.6 (Update 6). With Update 7 (0.7), released on October 12, 2026, the mod will need an update: don’t use it in an important world until the author releases a file tagged for the new version.

Requirements
- Hytale 0.6 server (file LuckPerms-Hytale-5.5.87.jar from the official site)
- No dependencies
- Optional: mini-chat-formatter or another chat mod to show prefixes in chat
How to install it
- Go to luckperms.net/download and download the file from the Hytale section (LuckPerms-Hytale-5.5.87.jar).
- For a dedicated server, stop it and copy the .jar as is, without unzipping it, into the server's mods folder.
- Start the server once so the mod's config folder is generated, and review its .json files.
- To test it in a single-player world, copy it into %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods and enable it in the world settings (right-click the world).
- From the console, create an admin group and give it every permission (/lp group admin permission set *), add yourself to it and use /lp editor for the rest.

Common problems
Why doesn't /op work anymore?
LuckPerms replaces Hytale's permission system for players. Use /lp user permission set * to grant full access.
How do I see which permission a command uses?
Turn on LuckPerms verbose mode and run the command: you'll see the node being checked. The game's /help also lists commands with their permission.
Why don't prefixes show up in chat?
Chat formatting was removed from the mod. Install mini-chat-formatter (by the same author) or a chat plugin compatible with LuckPerms.
Where's the official version?
On luckperms.net/download, in the Hytale section. It's the source linked by the official LuckPerms wiki; avoid copies from other sites.
