What this mod does
In Hytale you’re constantly switching between pickaxe and hatchet: you dig a tunnel, hit a wooden beam, swap tools and start over. Multitools, by InkBlindCat, solves that with a single tool that does both. It has over 176,000 downloads on CurseForge, and its version 1.2.9, from September 3, 2026, is released for Update 6 (0.6).
What it adds
- A pickaxe-hatchet multitool that works on stone, ores and wood blocks.
- Eight tiers that follow the game’s material progression: Crude, copper, iron, thorium, cobalt, adamantite, onyxium and mithril.
- A crafting cost higher than regular tools, to make up for them doing the job of two.
Who it’s for
For anyone who spends hours mining and building, especially early and mid-game, when inventory space is tight and every slot counts. Carrying one tool instead of two frees up a hotbar slot.
Compatibility
The author says it works with Tree Harvester and Ore Harvester, and probably also with mods that use the Hybrid library. It doesn’t need any other mod. The description doesn’t list the exact recipes, so check them in game.
Checked on October 20, 2026: the author hasn’t yet released a file on CurseForge tagged for Hytale 0.7 (Update 7). We’ll check again and update this page as soon as it’s out.

How to install it
- Open the Multitools page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app, or download the file Multitools-1.2.9.jar (version for 0.6) from the Files tab.
- If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into the mods folder: on Windows %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
- Open Hytale, right-click the world where you want to use it, tick Multitools in the mod list and save the world settings.
- On a dedicated server, place the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
- In game, look for the multitool of the tier you want in the crafting recipes; it costs more materials than a regular pickaxe or hatchet.

Common problems
Does it replace the game's pickaxe and hatchet?
It doesn't remove them: it adds one more tool that does both jobs. You can keep using the regular ones.
Why is it so expensive to craft?
It's the author's choice to balance the mod: it does the work of two tools, so it costs more.
Does it work with Tree Harvester or Ore Harvester?
Yes, according to the author it's fully compatible with both.
