What this mod does

This pack brings the Ford Mustang from the golden age of American muscle cars to Assetto Corsa. Its author, Joshua Widder, made it because he felt the game was missing a pony car, and he did nearly all of it himself: 3D modeling, physics and textures. It’s rated 4.93 out of 5 with about 130,000 downloads.

What’s included

  • Several versions of the Mustang: Mach 1, Boss 302, Boss 429 and R race variants such as the 302R and 429R.
  • Importing, textures and advice from Alberto Daniel Russo (A3DR) and liveries by Andy-R and Ben Dovah.
  • Brake fade, especially on the rear drums, tires tuned through braking tests and revised force feedback.
  • Custom collider, paint template and the option to remove the decals with a transparent texture.

Who it’s for

For anyone who enjoys heavy cars with lots of torque and few electronic aids. The R versions are great for period races, and the author changed the 302R’s rear end ratio to make the AI more competitive.

Version

The author warns that this isn’t 1.0: physics and model are complete, but it still needs polish and some LODs. The latest update (October 2021) added the brake and tire files he’d kept after quitting modding.

Unofficial fan-made mod. Names, logos and liveries belong to their respective owners; neither the author nor Holymod is affiliated with them.
