Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII Time Attack for Assetto Corsa

What this mod does

This mod recreates a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII from the Pro class of the World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC), the Australian fast-lap competition where street cars are transformed into machines with extreme aero. Its author, wjmoosting, started building it in 2016 and released it in 2019 after optimizing the model and improving the exterior sound.

What’s included

• A heavily modified Evo VIII with big wings and a diffuser; the support thread mentions it makes almost four tons of downforce at high speed.
• Physics developed with help from Aphidgod (author of the Subaru Impreza GD Tuned) and advice from AccAkut and FlandreNien.
• Onboard and exterior videos linked from the mod page so you can see how it drives before downloading it.

Who it’s for

For anyone who enjoys squeezing out fast laps on their own: hot laps on tracks like Tsukuba, Sydney Motorsport Park or whatever you have installed. It’s demanding because of how much aero grip it has: at high speed it glues the car to the ground, and in slow corners you have to be careful with the throttle.

Version

Version 1.0 (May 2019) is the only one released. Some users mention that the animated gear shift is too fast and that certain PNG liveries don’t load.

Requirements

How to install it

1. Go to the Evo VIII page on OverTake.gg and log in.
2. Download the file (about 82 MB).
3. Drag it into Content Manager and install it, or copy the car folder to assettocorsa/content/cars.
4. Find Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII Time Attack in the car list.
5. Pick a fast-lap mode (Hotlap or Practice) to get the most out of it.
