What this mod does

The Russell Alexis Mk.14 is one of the first Formula Fords, the class of simple, affordable single-seaters born in 1967 that many drivers went through before reaching Formula 1. It won several national championships in 1967 and 1968 against the Lotus 51. The mod is the work of Stereo, who made the model, textures and physics over three years, and it has one of the highest ratings on OverTake: 4.98 out of 5.

What’s included

  • 1.6-liter Ford Kent engine with just over 100 hp and Hewland Mk.7 and Mk.8 gearboxes with several ratio sets.
  • Two tire compounds: a nineties formula tire and a sixties general-purpose one that’s much slipperier.
  • Adjustable suspension, brake bias, anti-roll bars and brake force.
  • A highly detailed model with lots of animated parts, liveries by Ryno917 and driver animations by Gary Paterson.

Who it’s for

If you want to understand how a car’s weight shifts, this is a great teacher: with no wings, little power and narrow tires, you feel every braking zone and every load into a corner. It fits beautifully on classic tracks and in vintage online races.

Version

Version 1.1 (April 2019) renamed the car folder, so you should delete 1.0 if you had it. The author warns that his shader is designed for the original showroom and that small visual glitches may appear with Custom Shaders Patch.

Common problems

I see shine or graphical glitches on the car

The author says anomalies can appear with the shaders patch; turn off effects like Particles FX or Fake Shadows FX for this car.

The car shows up twice

Version 1.1 renamed the folder; delete the one from version 1.0.

Which tire should I pick?

The North compound is a nineties formula radial with more grip; the East mimics a sixties tire, slipperier and true to the era.
