What this mod does

Camera Mod is a mod by Hitman that tweaks almost every camera in American Truck Simulator, especially the cab view. It has over 23,000 subscribers and gets frequent updates that add more trucks.

Interior camera

  • New default position (adjust it in the seat with F4 while holding R), more zoom and 90° rotation up and down.
  • 80° FOV by default.
  • Animations: step out the door when you look left and, when you look right, get up from the wheel, lie down on the bunk (sleeper cabs only), sit in the passenger seat or lean out of its window.

Other cameras

  • Chase: farther away and higher. Along with the top-down camera, it allows replays at the Driving Academy.
  • Roof and lean-out: 100° FOV. The lean-out camera sits above the roof and rotates up to three full turns.
  • Bumper camera above the grille and wheel camera above the hood.
  • Photo mode with more height, distance, zoom and tilt. In the service shop, in walk mode, you can climb onto the roof.

Version

The author doesn’t list a game version. Version 1.4.0 (August 2026) updates the configurations for several trucks. It already covers the Volvo VNL 2025, and the author bought the Road Trip: Ford DLC to set up its cars.

How to install it

  1. Open the "Camera Mod" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
  2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
  3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
  4. In the cab, press F4 and hold R if you want to adjust the seat position.
  5. Try the new views by looking left and right with the look keys.

Common problems

The image looks stretched

The FOV is wider; you can change the FOV preset in the game.

Does it work with modded trucks?

Only with those on the compatible truck list the author links to; you can request more through his form.

Can I lean out of both windows?

No: the lean-out camera only supports one point.
