What this mod does
This mod by Slav Jerry changes the sound of Cummins ISX engines to a stock version, the one you’d hear on a fleet truck with its original exhaust. No straight pipes here: you hear the variable-geometry turbo, the exhaust gas recirculation and the particulate filter.
What it changes
- Cummins ISX, ISX12 and ISX15 engines from 370 to 600 hp with stock sound (EGR, VGT and DPF).
- Replaces the SCS engines in the game’s original trucks and also works with mod trucks.
- An engine fan that kicks in on its own if you stay above 1500 rpm for a while.
- Gearbox whine.
- Distance attenuation and directional effects: it sounds different depending on where you are relative to the truck.
How it’s made
The author starts from SCS Software engine samples and does the mixing and mastering himself. Version 2.0, from June 2026, is a complete rebuild based on his well-known Cummins ISX Straight pipe 5.1.
Who it’s for
For anyone driving a Peterbilt, Kenworth or International with a Cummins who wants a realistic stock sound, without the over-the-top noise of open exhausts. If you prefer something rawer, the same author has the straight-pipe version.
Version
Slav Jerry marks it as compatible with ATS 1.56 to 1.60. On 1.61 it may show up as an outdated mod until he updates it.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods (or the author's official thread on the SCS forum).
- Download version 2.0.
- Copy the .scs file to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- In the Mod Manager, enable it and move it above the trucks and other sound mods.
- Go to a service shop and choose a Cummins ISX engine for your truck.
- If a mod truck has no sound, check the load order or the author's compatibility list.

Common problems
Is it the same as the ISX Straight pipe?
No. That one is a straight pipe; this one recreates the stock exhaust with EGR, VGT and DPF.
Does it work on ATS 1.61?
The author marks it up to 1.60. It may work, but the game will flag it as an outdated mod until he updates it.
Does it work with mod trucks?
Yes, the author designed it for SCS trucks and for mod trucks.
