What this mod does
E-F RTLO-xx913/18 Gearboxes + Diffs is a mod by Fury6 that adds the Eaton Fuller RTLO Super 13 and Super 18 transmissions, with and without retarder, to American Truck Simulator. He has maintained it since 2016, and it has more than 100 change notes and over 37,000 subscribers.
What’s included
- Both gearboxes for the eighteen stock trucks and for many modded Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, International, Western Star, Freightliner, Volvo and other trucks.
- 17 differential ratios, from 2.50 to 5.11. Higher ones give more pulling power with heavy loads but raise rpm and fuel use. Defaults are 3.55 on the Super 13 and 3.25 on the Super 18.
- At the service shop they show up as “Eaton Fuller Super XX Y.YY rears – fury6”, with an r if they have a retarder.
- Gears with their real names: R-Lo, R-Hi, Lo and 1 through 8 with high and low.
Installation and issues
Mack trucks need separate gear layout files, linked on the page. The author warns that, after an old update, some trucks may revert to the 10-speed gearbox: change it at the service shop and don’t use the truck manager, which can crash the game.

The page lists 1.59 or earlier. The latest update is from September 12, 2026.

Requirements

- Steam account to subscribe on the Workshop
- No DLC or other mods required
- For Mack trucks: the gear layout files linked by the author
How to install it
- Open the “E-F RTLO-xx913/18 Gearboxes + Diffs” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Go to a service shop and pick the “Eaton Fuller Super 13” or “Super 18” gearbox with the ratio you want.
- Don't change the gearbox from the truck manager: the author warns it can crash the game.
Common problems
Which ratio should I pick?
Higher for heavy loads, lower to save fuel; defaults are 3.55 on the Super 13 and 3.25 on the Super 18.
My truck went back to the 10-speed gearbox
Change it manually at the service shop, as the author says.
