What this mod does
Super Engine & Transmission is a mod by GA071MA that adds very powerful engines and gearboxes to every stock truck in American Truck Simulator. It has more than 140,000 subscribers.
What’s included
- Six engines: 850, 2500, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 hp.
- Four gearboxes and twelve engine sounds, including straight pipes.
- Fuel tanks of up to 5000 liters.
Other versions
The author publishes a version for many modded trucks and another without the giant tanks. He warns that the most recent version is only on Steam Workshop.
Credits
He credits the sounds to eight authors: Zee, Johnny_Cash, Kriechbaum, Wolfgang Haring, Slav Jerry, Serialblack, Japheth Rasta.Jr and Aeronildo. He says the rest of the mod is his own.
Version
The description says “v 1.40.** –> v 1.**.**”. According to the author, it doesn’t need a new version with every game update as long as SCS doesn’t change the game’s structure. The latest changes added the 2024 Freightliner Cascadia and the Mack Pinnacle. The page was last updated on July 7, 2025.
Reported problems
Some players report crashes when combining it with a no-damage mod, and brakes locking up with the engine brake.
