What this mod does
Chaos Mod UI adds a chaos mode to BeamNG.drive in the form of a UI app. From a panel you enable effects that make driving harder or turn the road into a spectacle of destruction, ideal for challenges with friends, videos or just an absurd good time.
Available effects
- Objects: drop or launch objects, including meteors since March 2026.
- Your vehicle: forced acceleration, force field and extra downforce.
- Other vehicles: forced acceleration of nearby cars and blowing up the cars around you.
- Environment: friction, wind speed and time scale.
- UI: speed mode and survival chance, with a damage option.
How to use it
Add it like any other UI app and enable each effect from it. If the app goes blank or throws errors, the author recommends reloading Lua with Ctrl+L and the UI with F5, resetting the mod’s settings or deleting its settings.json file in the user folder (ui/modules/apps/chaosModMathkuro). Replays don’t record the app; to control them without it, you can use Alt+R.
Compatibility
The second version arrived in January 2026 and the latest update is from March 2026, during the 0.38 era. It’s by the same author as Extra AI Race Mission and Most Wanted Mission.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the Chaos Mod UI page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or click Subscribe to install it from the in-game Repository.
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder in your user folder (AppData > Local > BeamNG > BeamNG.drive > current > mods; the launcher opens it with Manage User Folder).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- In the game, press Esc, open UI Apps, click Add app and add Chaos Mod.
- Enable the effects you want from the app while driving in Freeroam.

Common problems
The app is blank or shows a Lua error. What should I do?
Press Ctrl+L and F5, reset the mod's settings or delete its settings.json in ui/modules/apps/chaosModMathkuro inside the user folder.
Does it show up in replays?
No, replays don't record UI apps.
Does it affect other cars?
Yes, some effects accelerate or blow up nearby vehicles.
