What this mod does
Dashcam Overlay UI turns BeamNG.drive’s view into dashcam footage. It overlays the typical data these devices show on the image, so your crashes and drives look like real videos recorded from the car.
What’s included
- Several models: BeamCam, Flyer (a fictional brand created by a community member), Professional with no logo, and Custom, with your own logo, font and name.
- GPS with realistic lag and real-time coordinates.
- G-force meter, in-game time and configurable date.
- Six beeps and three voice alerts, or your own sounds, that play when an impact is detected or with a key.
- Orange theme.
Tips
Use the relative camera (key 5 by default) and position it with W, A, S and D to get the dashcam view. Bind keys to zoom to adjust the field of view, and another to hide the UI if you want to show the damage without the overlay. If the alerts are quiet, turn up the Other category volume in the game’s audio settings.
Compatibility
The author acknowledges that 0.39 affected some visual elements of the settings, although they say everything should work. Several users point out that the options menu gets cut off and won’t scroll down to the save button.
