What this mod does

The Ibishu Prodigy is a compact Japanese SUV from 1995 to 2001, the fictional brand Ibishu’s attempt to break into the ’90s crossover market. Many players consider it an SUV that fits perfectly with the style of the game’s official cars, and it has one of the highest ratings on the Repository.

What’s included

• 2.0 and 2.2 four-cylinder engines for general markets.
• A V6 reserved for the Japanese market.
• Japan-only sporty versions: EX-4 Turbo and GT-Turbo, the latter with a twin-turbo V6.
• Factory configs and JDM-style parts.
• Tuner and Special Edition paint jobs.
• Japanese police lights.

Compatibility

Version 1.2 is from February 2022 and hasn’t been updated since. Reviews from 2025 and 2026 are still five stars and say it has aged well, although they ask for an update with opening doors and mention that prices in Career mode aren’t balanced.

Tips

If you’re after a ’90s SUV for cruising around the maps or building a sporty version, the GT-Turbo is the most eye-catching config. Just keep in mind it’s an older mod: some details may not take advantage of the game’s recent features.

How to install it

1. Open the Ibishu Prodigy page on the official BeamNG Repository.
2. Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
3. If you download it manually, don't unzip it: copy the .zip into the mods folder of the current version (current) inside your BeamNG.drive user folder; if the mods folder doesn't exist, create it.
4. Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
5. Open the vehicle selector, find the Ibishu Prodigy and pick a config.
