What this mod does
Leap Of Death is one of the most veteran destruction maps on the Repository: a huge quarry pit surrounded by mountains where you can wreck cars, try to get down without getting crushed or climb up to the highest ramp. You spawn at the top or the bottom of the map, depending on the starting point you choose.
What’s included
- 4096 x 4096 terrain with mountains, lakes, hills, bridges and ramps.
- A 16.5 km dirt road from the bottom up to the top ramp.
- Another 10.5 km dirt road that circles the quarry.
- Very narrow passes and roads, ideal for trials and slow driving.
- Water that stalls engines and sets cars on fire, and paths the AI can detect.
Who it’s for
It works for crawling and off-roading as well as crash testing. The climb is very demanding with stock vehicles: the author recommends locking the differentials and using low range. If you like destruction, the quarry ramps offer plenty of fun.
Version notes
Version 0.5.2, from October 7, 2024, is a compatibility update for 0.33, which was the current game version at the time. The original map is by reginald (2013) and FunkyHunk has maintained it since 2014; almost all the assets are stock BeamNG. Some players have seen the sky without a texture, so if it happens to you, clear the cache.

How to install it
- Open the Leap Of Death page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository.
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder in your user folder (from the launcher: Manage User Folder > Open in Explorer).
- Launch the game, check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled and pick Leap Of Death from the map list.
- For the climb, use a 4x4 with differential locks and low range.

Common problems
Can I drive all the way up in any car?
It's very hard with stock vehicles; the author recommends differential locks and low range.
Does it work on current game versions?
The latest update is for 0.33 (October 2024); there's no confirmation from the author for later versions.
The sky shows no texture, what do I do?
A user mentioned it in 2025; try deleting older versions of the mod and clearing the cache from the launcher.
