What this mod does
Open Desert Trails is a 4096 x 4096 map built for fast off-roading in the desert. Its trails are reminiscent of trophy truck racing: long sandy straights, jumps, whoops and rocky areas where you have to slow down.
What’s included
- About 50 km of trails with bumpy, fast, flat and rocky sections.
- Routes that take 30 to 40 minutes of racing.
- Whoops sections, jumps and a rock bouncing area.
- A rock crawling area, a small town, a road and two time trials.

It suits off-road trucks, trophy trucks, prerunners, crawlers and buggies. If you like long desert races, here you get kilometers of trail without repeats. The forum thread also has a version without rocks for better performance.
Version notes
The map was broken from 0.31 until version 1.8.2, from October 7, 2024, which fixes missing textures, the terrain and rock placement; players celebrated its return. The mod page doesn’t list a game version; at that date the current one was 0.33. Textures by Ghost187 and models by DeGa.

How to install it
- Open the Open Desert Trails page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository.
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder in your user folder (from the launcher: Manage User Folder > Open in Explorer).
- Launch the game, check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled and pick the map from the Freeroam list.
- Use an off-road vehicle: trophy truck, prerunner, buggy or crawler.
