What this mod does

Engine & transmission is a mod by GA071MA that adds two very powerful engines and matching gearboxes to Euro Truck Simulator 2’s stock trucks. It’s one of the longest-running engine mods on the Workshop: he released it in August 2020 and has updated it with every game version since.

What’s included

  • A 3000 hp engine with a 15+2 speed gearbox.
  • A 1500 hp engine with a 14+2 speed gearbox.
  • Available for the stock SCS trucks of all seven European brands: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo.
  • According to its changelog, it covers the Volvo FH Series 5 and 6, the DAF XD and the Iveco S-Way, as well as the Volvo FH 2022 modified by SANAX.

How to use it

Once enabled, the engines and gearboxes show up as new parts at the service shop, under the engine and transmission section of each compatible truck. No DLC needed.

Version

The September 21, 2026 changelog entry reads «Update game version 1.61», and the author confirmed it in the comments. He had previously updated it for 1.60, 1.59 and earlier versions. With that much power, the truck handles in a very unrealistic way: this mod is meant for having fun in single-player.

How to install it

  1. Open the mod page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
  2. Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
  3. Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
  4. Enable "Engine & transmission" and confirm the changes.
  5. Load your save and go to a service shop.
  6. In your truck's engine and transmission section, pick the 1500 or 3000 hp engine and its gearbox.

Which trucks support it?

The stock SCS trucks from DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo, including the DAF XD, the Iveco S-Way and the Volvo FH Series 5 and 6.

Where do I install the engines?

At the service shop, in the truck's engine and transmission section.

Does it need any DLC?

No, the mod page doesn't require any.
