What this mod does
Slav Jerry, known for his open pipe exhausts for Scania, released this sound for the Mercedes-Benz V6 in November 2025. Designed for the classic Actros, it already has more than 1,600 downloads on TruckyMods.
What it adds
- 320 to 476 hp OM501/OM541 engines, standalone and with a straight pipe sound.
- Two-stage engine brake: first the exhaust brake only; then exhaust brake and «jake» brake together.
- Cab soundproofing effect: it sounds different inside than outside.
- Distance attenuation and directional distortion depending on the camera position.
Compatible trucks
The SCS Actros and Dotec’s Actros MP2 and MP3. If you use Dotec’s Actros MP3, it’s one of the few straight pipe sound options made specifically for it.
Why the engines are standalone
The mod doesn’t replace the original engines: it adds its own, and you pick them in the service shop. That way you can switch between the truck’s stock sound and this open pipe exhaust without uninstalling anything.
Version
It’s version 1.0, the first and only one so far, listed for ETS2 1.56. The author hasn’t confirmed it works on later versions, so it’s a good idea to test it with a backup save if you play on 1.61.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods, on Slav Jerry's verified account.
- Download version 1.0 directly from TruckyMods.
- Copy the .scs into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager above Dotec's Actros mod, if you use it.
- In the service shop, fit one of the OM501/OM541 engines the mod adds.
- Try the engine brake: the second stage combines the exhaust brake and the jake brake.

Common problems
Does it replace the sound of the Actros MP4 or the new Actros?
No. It's designed for the SCS Actros and Dotec's Actros MP2 and MP3, with OM501/541 V6 engines.
Do I lose the original engines?
No. The mod's engines are standalone; you choose one or the other in the service shop.
Does it work on 1.61?
The author only lists it for 1.56. It isn't confirmed on later versions.
