What this mod does
SJ Concept is Slav Jerry‘s personal idea of how a Scania V8 with an open pipe exhaust should sound. It doesn’t imitate a specific exhaust, like his Lepidas or FKM versions, and yet it’s his most-downloaded sound mod on TruckyMods after the Lepidas exhaust: nearly 15,000 downloads.
Engines it adds
- DC16 V8 Euro 3–5, 500 to 620 hp (Series 5 and 6).
- DC16 V8 with EGR and VGT turbo, 520, 580 and 730 hp (Series 6).
- DC16 V8 Euro 6, 520 to 770 hp, for the Scania NG.
- DC16 from 480 to 580 hp and DSC14 from 460 to 530 hp for the 4 Series.
Sound details
- Automatic exhaust brake when shifting on the NG.
- Gearbox whine, retarder and Opticruise shifts.
- Exhaust valve: switch between straight pipe and stock exhaust by holding the light horn (J) for a little over a second.
- Maximum volume control to avoid clipping and cutouts.
Compatibility
It works with the Scania trucks from SCS, RJL, Fred, Schumit, Eugene and JUseeTV, including the Scania PGR. Eugene’s Scania needs a compatibility add-on that comes with the mod. The author recommends maxing out the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes. Since 1.5 the engines are standalone and coexist with his stock Scania V8.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.60 (stated versions: 1.56–1.60)
- A compatible Scania: SCS, RJL, Fred, Schumit, Eugene or JUseeTV
- No other mod that replaces the truck's interior sounds (it blocks the exhaust valve)
How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods, on Slav Jerry's verified account.
- Download version 1.5.1 directly from TruckyMods.
- Copy the .scs into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager above your Scania truck mods (and above the add-on for Eugene's Scania, if you use it).
- Max out the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes in the sound options.
- In the service shop, fit one of the mod's V8 engines and use the J key for the exhaust valve.

Common problems
How is it different from Slav Jerry's other exhausts?
Lepidas and FKM imitate real exhausts from specific shops; SJ Concept is the author's own version.
How do I activate the exhaust valve?
Hold the light horn (J by default) for a little over a second and release it. If nothing changes, the press was too short.
Does it work with Eugene's Scania?
Yes, with the compatibility add-on the author updated in April 2026.
