What this mod does
If you drive a modern DAF and find the stock sound flat, this mod by Slav Jerry gives it more believable factory audio. Version 3.0 (August 2026) is a complete rebuild that adds the DAF XD to the list.

- Paccar MX-13 (410–530 hp) and MX-11 (300–450 hp) engines.
What you’ll hear
- Different sound depending on whether you listen from the front, the side, the rear or the cab.
- ZF retarder and an engine fan that kicks in above 1,500 rpm.
- Interior insulation, distance attenuation and directional distortion.
Who it’s for
For anyone after stock realism, not open pipes. It takes the same approach as his Scania V8 stock sound and Iveco Cursor stock sounds, so you can build a fleet with consistent factory sound. It pairs well with Sound Fixes Pack for the rest of the game’s sounds.
Version
TruckyMods lists it for ETS2 1.56–1.60. As of October 7, 2026, the author still hasn’t added 1.61.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods (Slav Jerry's verified account).
- Download version 3.0, hosted on TruckyMods.
- Copy the file into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager.
- At an upgrade shop, fit an MX-13 or MX-11 engine to your DAF.
- Turn up the engine, exhaust and turbo volumes in the audio options if it sounds quiet.

Does it work on the DAF XD?
Yes, 3.0 added XD support.
Does it change the sound of older DAFs?
No. It's made for the XF 2021, XG, XD and XF Euro 6.
Does it work on 1.61?
The author only lists it up to 1.60; check the page in case 1.61 gets added.
