What this mod does
It’s Slav Jerry‘s most downloaded sound mod on TruckyMods, ahead even of his Scania V8 stock sound. It recreates a Scania DC16 V8 with an open exhaust inspired by the Lepidas team’s system.
What it adds
- DC16 V8 engines from 480 to 730 hp, plus a tuned 950 hp version.
- Exhaust with two tones (deep or with backfire pops): switch between them by holding the light horn for more than a second (J by default).
- Gearbox whine, retarder sound and an option for Opticruise shifts.
- Sound attenuation and directionality based on where the camera is, plus a blow-off valve with variable pitch.
Compatible trucks
All of SCS’s Scanias, RJL’s Scania R, Streamline, 4 Series and Torpedo, JUseeTV’s Scania PGR and Fred’s Scania. Since 3.3 the engines are standalone and coexist with the author’s other Scania mods.
Version
3.3 (June 17, 2026) is listed for ETS2 1.56–1.60; as of October 7, 1.61 still isn’t on the list. If you’ve updated to 1.61 it may load anyway, but the author hasn’t confirmed it yet.

Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.60 (listed versions: 1.56–1.60)
- An SCS Scania or one of the compatible Scania mods (RJL, JUseeTV, Fred)
How to install it
- Open the mod's page on TruckyMods (Slav Jerry's verified account).
- Download version 3.3, hosted on TruckyMods itself.
- Copy the .scs into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager above any Scania truck mods you use.
- At an upgrade shop, fit one of the V8 engines the mod adds.
- To switch tones, hold the light horn (J) for a little over a second.

Common problems
Why doesn't the exhaust tone change?
You have to hold the light horn for more than a second. It also won't work if another mod replaces the truck's interior sounds.
Does it work on RJL's Scanias?
Yes: RJL's R, Streamline, 4 Series and Torpedo, plus JUseeTV's PGR and Fred's Scania.
Does it work on 1.61?
The author only lists it up to 1.60. Check the page before you update.
