What this mod does
Physics Tweak (Slippery Surfaces) is a physics mod by Eddie Yantz, the author of AirSeat Ride, for Euro Truck Simulator 2. It reduces tire grip, as on slippery surfaces, and tweaks the truck’s behavior so driving demands more attention. It’s for SCS physics without snow or weather effects.
What it changes
- Less traction than stock physics: tire type and condition matter more.
- New brake force curve, finer at low pedal pressure. The author recommends it with air brake simulation turned on.
- More cab pitch when accelerating and braking, with longer oscillations; side-to-side roll doesn’t change.
- More truck mass: 1,200 kg for the cab and driver and 127 kg per wheel.
- More driver camera movement, like on an air seat.
It only includes two files: physics.sii and physics_interior_camera.sii. The author based it on values from mods by AlexeyP and Frknm64 and on a forum post by Cadde.
Version
The description states compatibility from 1.35 to 1.59, and the last update is from April 26, 2026. In November 2025 he confirmed it works fine on 1.57. He also publishes a dry surface version and two more for ATS.

Requirements

- Recommended: turn on air brake simulation
How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- In the gameplay options, turn on air brake simulation, as the author recommends.
- Drive smoothly: the truck has less grip than with stock physics.

Does it add snow or rain?
No: it only changes the physics; it's for SCS physics without weather.
