What this mod does
A revision by galimim of the Volvo FH drivetrain: engines with real specs, gearboxes with Volvo’s naming, and badges. It’s been published on the official SCS forum since 2016; the version in the first post is 2.21, and on June 6, 2026 the author posted a fix for the D17 600 engine in the thread.
What it changes
- D13, D13 Turbo Compound (D13K460 and D13K500), D16 and D17 engines, in Euro 5 or Euro 6 depending on the truck, with updated torque curves.
- VT/VTO and I-Shift gearboxes with several ratios, crawler gears and, since 2.21, the full «G» range with more axle ratios.
- Names like Volvo’s: in «I-Shift ATO3512F ASO-C», AT means automated, O overdrive, 35 the maximum torque, 12 the number of gears, F the revision and ASO-C the crawler gear.
- Realistic engine brake and retarder, and revised shift points.
Compatible trucks
The stock FH Classic, FH 2012, FH 2021 and FH Aero 2024, Ohaha’s FHs and johnny244’s FH3. There are separate patches for Eugene’s and Pendragon’s reworks, which make the stock truck fail.
Load order
Above all your Volvo and sound mods. To use a sound like the Volvo FH Open Pipe Sound, you have to change the .sui on each engine’s sound line.

- The author doesn't state an exact game version; the last game change cited in the changelog is patch 1.53, although he's still posting fixes in 2026
- The Eugene and Pendragon patches make the stock FH fail
- To keep a sound mod, you have to edit the sound line of each engine
Requirements
- Euro Truck Simulator 2 (the author doesn't state a version; last updated in June 2026)
- No DLC: works with the stock Volvo FH
- Optional: patch for Eugene's FH&FH16 2012 Reworked or for Pendragon's FHs
How to install it
- Open galimim's thread on the SCS forum and download Volvo Drivetrain Revision (Google Drive) and, if you need it, the D17 600 fix posted in June 2026.
- Copy the files to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Enable the mod and place it above your Volvo truck and sound mods.
- If you use Eugene's or Pendragon's reworks, add only their patch; don't enable it with the stock FH.
- Before disabling it, refit a stock engine and gearbox on your trucks.

Common problems
Which FHs does it support?
The stock FH Classic, FH 2012, FH 2021 and FH Aero 2024, plus Ohaha's FHs and johnny244's FH3.
What do ASO-C and ASO-ULC mean?
That the I-Shift has a crawler gear or an ultra-low crawler gear.
Do I need the patch?
Only with Eugene's or Pendragon's rework; with the stock FH, the patch makes the game fail.
What fix came out in June 2026?
On June 6 the author posted a fix for the D17 600 engine in the thread.
