What this mod does
Previous Soundproofing is by Drive Safely, the author of the well-known Sound Fixes Pack. It fixes a common complaint since update 1.43, which changed the sound inside the cab: on many trucks the engine sounds louder inside than outside.
What it changes
- Restores soundproofing similar to version 1.42 on the affected stock trucks.
- Stops cab sounds from being louder than with the camera outside, next to the engine.
- Reduces excessive reverb inside the cab.
- Softens high frequencies, like the turbo, when your windows are up.
Trucks with custom tweaks
The author has kept expanding it: Scania R and S 2016 (redone in the latest version), DAF XF Electric, Volvo FH Series 5 and 6, Iveco S-Way 2024, Renault Magnum 2009 and Scania S BEV, among others.
How to load it
Enable it with low priority in the Mod Manager, meaning below everything else. It doesn’t add new recordings: it tweaks SCS’s sound parameters. The author makes the base configuration available to other modders, but warns that raising the gain too much also affects traffic and ambient sounds.
