What this mod does
Real Ai Traffic Sounds ETS2 (FMOD) is a mod by Cipus, author of Real Traffic Density, that gives the traffic vehicles in Euro Truck Simulator 2 their own sounds. It has over 250,000 subscribers.
What changes
- FMOD sounds for the stock traffic cars, SUVs, trucks and buses.
- More realistic top speed on some vehicles.
- Real colors on most cars and more variety in trucks.
- More trucks in traffic.
Where the sounds come from
According to the author, mostly from YouTube, plus some old OGG files from Drive Safely and Darkcaptain, whom he credits.
Compatibility and load order
- Not compatible with mods that change the AI files (speed, colors, torque or traffic ratio).
- Place it above mods that add vehicles to traffic, such as maps, economy or company mods.
- He recommends traffic density at 35–40% and truck engine volume at 60–70%.
Version
The author lists 1.38 or later and, when asked about 1.58, replied that it works because the AI files almost never change. The latest update is from July 6, 2025.

How to install it
- Open the “Real Ai Traffic Sounds ETS2 (FMOD)” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager, enable the mod and confirm the changes.
- Place it above mods that add vehicles to traffic (maps, economy, companies).
- In the options, set traffic density to 35–40% and engine volume to 60–70%, as the author recommends.
