What this mod does

Real Soundproofing, by Sherman, changes the cabin soundproofing of the stock trucks in Euro Truck Simulator 2 so the noise that reaches the driver sounds closer to the real thing. It has almost 59,000 subscribers.

How the author made it

  • He based it on lots of YouTube videos and his own impressions inside real cabins.
  • He used Shure and Arturia audio gear to fine-tune the settings.
  • He keeps up with the changes SCS makes to its cabin insulation system.

Trucks

It affects SCS trucks: DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Scania and Volvo. The description doesn’t mention modded trucks.

Version and changes

The description lists versions 1.55 to 1.60. The June 18, 2026 update completely redid the soundproofing parameters and replaced old engine sounds with newer ones. The November 2025 update had already swapped old sounds for SCS’s new ones.

The author points out that his mods are free and only official on Steam Workshop. It’s under 200 KB, no DLC required. The same author also has a version for American Truck Simulator.

How to install it

  1. Open the “Real Soundproofing” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
  2. Wait for Steam to finish the download.
  3. Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
  4. Load your save and drive any SCS truck from the interior view.
