SCS Truck Sound Rework Megapack: reworked sounds for every truck for Euro Truck Simulator 2

What this mod does

SCS Truck Sound Rework Megapack, by xTonyD83x, reworks the sounds of every SCS truck in Euro Truck Simulator 2 using the game’s own sound samples. It has almost 34,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop.

What’s included

• Reworked sound for 19 engines, each with its own profile.
• 7 gearbox sounds and 6 retarder sounds.
• Custom interior attenuation, better sound falloff with distance (with reverb and distortion) and exhaust distortion based on direction.
• A 950 hp, 5,250 Nm engine with a 6-speed Allison gearbox for all trucks.

Modded trucks

It also adds sound to Vadik’s DAF XF 105, Madster’s MAN TGX Euro 5 Reworked and Euro 6, Dotec’s Actros MP2 Black Edition, Knox’s Renault Magnum, RJL’s Scanias, Fred’s Scania R2012 and RPIE’s Volvo FH16 2012. Credits go to Kriechbaum and Slav Jerry (sound), RastaJr (format) and SCS (samples).

Version and known issues

The author doesn’t state a game version. The last update was on September 9, 2024. Some players say that on 1.54 it disables the air horn, that the retarder sound is missing or that sounds cut out now and then. Another says it can’t be used in Convoy because it isn’t marked as optional.

Requirements

• A Steam account to subscribe on the Workshop
• No DLC needed
• Optional: the compatible modded trucks the author lists

How to install it

1. Open the “SCS Truck Sound Rework Megapack” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
2. Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to finish the download.
3. Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
4. Disable other mods that change the SCS engine sounds.
5. If you want the 950 hp engine, buy it at the service shop.
