What this mod does
Realistic Cabin Soundproofing, by lambo, aims to make a modern truck cab sound insulated, just like in real life: with the doors closed, outside noise should stay outside. It’s a tiny file, under 200 KB, that has passed 150,000 subscribers since April 2026.
What it does and doesn’t do
- Strengthens the feeling of soundproofing inside the cab.
- It doesn’t rebalance volumes: you may need to readjust the game’s sound controls after enabling it.
- It’s designed for Sound Fixes Pack, although the author says it also works fine with the stock sounds.
Load order
Place it in the Mod Manager above any other sound mod, including Sound Fixes Pack itself.
Version
The author doesn’t state a game version. It was released on April 19, 2026, and last updated on May 17, right after 1.59 came out. If you play on 1.61, try it on a secondary profile first.
What about Previous Soundproofing?
Previous Soundproofing, by Drive Safely, also adjusts cab insulation. Since both touch the same thing, the safe bet is to try each one separately first and keep the one you like. There’s also an American Truck Simulator adaptation by RedCherry, linked from the description.

How to install it
- Open the "Realistic Cabin Soundproofing" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to download the mod.
- In the Mod Manager, enable it and move it above all other sound mods.
- Load your save, get into the cab and close the windows.
- If the overall volume has changed, readjust the sound controls in the game options.
