What this mod does
Winter sounds, by Drive Safely, the author of Sound Fixes Pack, adapts the sounds in Euro Truck Simulator 2 to a snowy winter. It has over 87,000 subscribers.
What it does
- You can hear thunder during snowfall, more muffled the farther away it is.
- Fewer insect sounds.
With Sound Fixes Pack
If you use Sound Fixes Pack, extra features kick in:
- Fewer ambient insect and bird sounds.
- Lawn mowers and combine harvesters in the fields go silent.
- Air conditioning sound on the Tesla Model S and Model Y in traffic, when the camera is close to the hood.
- Fewer summer vehicles in traffic, such as convertibles and ice cream vans.
The author also recommends Frosty Winter Weather Mod, by Grimes, though neither one is required.
Load order
It has to go above Sound Fixes Pack and Frosty Winter Weather Mod.
Version
On January 1, 2026, the author announced he was picking the mod back up and had updated it for 1.57. The description says «Tested on 1.57». There’s a separate version for American Truck Simulator.

How to install it
- Open the "Winter sounds" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- If you use Sound Fixes Pack or Frosty Winter Weather Mod, put Winter sounds above them.
- Load your save in a cold, snowy area to hear the changes.
