What this mod does

Realistic Scania SmartDash is an interior mod by Moooritz that reworks the SmartDash screen on Euro Truck Simulator 2’s Scanias to look more like the real thing. The author bases it on videos of real trucks and admits that some features are semi-realistic due to the game’s limits.

What it changes

  • New vehicle information page with the odometer.
  • Page with the time until the mandatory rest, trip duration and remaining navigation time.
  • Larger, more visible speed limit and cruise control on every page.
  • Lift axle icons for the truck and trailer, engine brake and a 120 km/h mark.
  • Navigation screen with arrival time, next rest, a working compass and a small clock in the top right.

Limitations

There are no warnings or sounds for speeding, and due to a game limitation the needle reaches the 120 km/h mark when you’re doing 110. The author considers it a work in progress.

Version and compatibility

Version 1.654 (September 19, 2026) added 1.61, and 1.656 (September 23, 2026) fixed the turn signal speed. It doesn’t work on versions older than 1.57. It’s tagged as an optional mod, so you can use it in Convoy.

Requirements

  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 updated to version 1.61 (doesn't work below 1.57)
  • An SCS Scania with the SmartDash screen
  • No DLC or other mods needed
  • Steam account

How to install it

  1. Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
  2. Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
  3. Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
  4. Enable “Realistic Scania SmartDash” and confirm the changes.
  5. In your save, get into a Scania with SmartDash and switch screen pages with the infotainment key.

Common problems

Can I use it in Convoy?

Yes: the author flags it as an optional mod.

Does it warn me when I'm speeding?

No: the author says speeding warnings and sounds can't be done in the game.

Why does the needle show 120 when I'm doing 110?

It's a game limitation the author can't fix.

Does it work on older versions?

Only from 1.57 on; version 1.655 fixed bugs on versions 1.57 to 1.60.
