What this mod does
Real Traffic Density – Ratio Adjustment is an add-on by Erbkaiser for Real Traffic Density (RTD), Cipus’s traffic density mod. It doesn’t change how much traffic there is, but which kinds of vehicles show up, so the mix looks more like real life. It has over 21,000 subscribers.
What it changes
- Sharply lowers the ratio of trucks to cars: from about 1:20 by day to about 1:3 at night.
- Adjusts vans and buses to working hours.
- Fewer emergency vehicles outside cities, and no fire trucks where trucks are banned.
- Fewer classic cars (none at night), motorcycles and sports cars.
- A higher maximum vehicle count and changes to how the AI changes lanes.
Requirements and order
It needs Real Traffic Density and must sit right above it in the Mod Manager. It only affects vehicles that spawn after you enable it. It isn’t an official part of RTD: it’s a port, with permission, of a mod by Azuirele for ATS.
Version and issues
The author doesn’t list the game version. The latest update, from September 21, 2026, brought a big change; several users ended up with no traffic, and the author rolled it back, investigated and republished it with the spawn bugs fixed. Afterwards, one user said they saw no traffic on 1.61 with the mod enabled.

How to install it
- Subscribe to Real Traffic Density on Steam Workshop.
- Open this mod's page and click Subscribe.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and place Ratio Adjustment right above Real Traffic Density.
- Load your save: you'll notice the changes in vehicles that spawn from then on.
Common problems
Does it work without Real Traffic Density?
No: it's an RTD add-on and goes right above it.
I don't see any traffic
Some users had this after the September update; try disabling it and let the author know.
Is it an official part of RTD?
