What this mod does
YARA (Yet Another Route Advisor) is an interface mod by Cal that replaces the stock route advisor. Instead of the big block in the bottom corner, it moves almost all the information to the top of the screen and redesigns the HUD mirrors so they take up less space without losing usefulness.
What you need to know
- It doesn’t show the time or include GPS or navigation: the author did this on purpose.
- In recent game versions you have to enable the widgets: press F1, go to Widgets and enable navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
- The October 4, 2026 update makes it compatible with 1.61; the author warns that on other versions the game may crash.
- For 1.57 and earlier, a separate plugin was needed; since 1.58 it no longer is.
Support
Comments are closed, and the author admits he hasn’t played ETS2 in years, so updates aren’t his priority. Even so, he has kept it up to date with the current version. Cal also has a version for American Truck Simulator.
Since it has no navigation, you’ll have to rely on the in-game map to find your way. If you’d rather keep a GPS in view, one alternative is an in-cab screen like Tjs HD GPS Mod.

How to install it
- Open the "YARA - Yet Another Route Advisor" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Enable "YARA" in your profile's Mod Manager.
- Once in your save, press F1, go to Widgets and enable navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
- Check that the information appears at the top of the screen.

Common problems
Why don't I see anything after enabling it?
In recent versions you have to enable the widgets with F1: navigation, tachometer, company messages, finances and damage.
Does it have GPS?
No. The author removed navigation on purpose; it doesn't show the time either.
Do I need the plugin mentioned in the description?
Only on 1.57 and earlier. Since 1.58 it isn't needed.
Is there an ATS version?
Yes, the same author publishes it on the American Truck Simulator Workshop.
