What this mod does
Angler’s Almanac overhauls fishing in Hytale: what you pull out of the water depends on the biome, every catch is logged in a book and, depending on the fish’s rarity, you have to beat a minigame.
What it adds
- The Almanac: a book with every fish you’ve caught, species info and stats for your minigames and your total catch.
- Tension Bar minigame, inspired by Stardew Valley: keep a bar over the fish icon while it moves. The difficulty goes up with rarity.
- Biome-based loot, which you can expand with the Hytale Asset Editor to add fish and rewards.
For servers
Everything is configured with JSON files, and the /openconfig command (operator only) opens the main settings in game. It integrates with MMO Skill Tree (optional dependency), TaleQuests, QuestLines Core and Mermaids. It’s open source (GPLv3) and on GitHub, with community translations.
With Update 7
Version 1.2.2, from October 12, 2026, updates it to 0.7.0, adds more particles while fishing and fixes the environment check. It’s more complete than HyFishing or Cozy Tales Fishing; if you already use one of them, test the combination in a separate world before bringing it into your main save.

Common problems
Do I need other mods?
No. MMO Skill Tree is listed as an optional dependency to tie fishing into its skill system.
Is there a minigame for every fish?
The minigame's difficulty scales with the fish's rarity; for now the page only describes the Tension Bar minigame.
Can I add new fish?
Yes: the author says you can create new species and loot with the Hytale Asset Editor.
Is it open source?
Yes, GPLv3 license, with the code and documentation on GitHub.
