What this mod does
Cozy Tales – Fishing is a relaxed fishing mod by Hexvane, the author of Aetherhaven. Fish shadows appear in the water: you cast nearby, wait for a bite and fight the fish until you land it. You can fish in ponds, rivers, the sea and even lava.
What it adds
- Rods in tiers, from wood to adamantite; the better ones can handle tougher fights.
- Bobbers: spinners that attract fish from farther away, trap bobbers for the fight, and others that favor quality, treasure or junk.
- Fish finder and fishing journal with discoveries, records and a server leaderboard.
- Fishing bench (rods, bobbers and aquariums), fish processor (meat and scales) and aquariums in three sizes.
- Fishing boat, sunken chests and messages in bottles that give hints about new species.
Controls
Hold the primary button to charge your cast and release; hold it again to reel in. The secondary button reels in the line early and F equips bobbers. Version 1.4.0 (September 21, 2026) adds glowing fishing spots with 4 to 6 catches, rarer fish and more treasure.
With Aetherhaven installed, a fisherman with a shop appears, but it isn’t required. This is a file for Hytale 0.6: with Update 7, released October 12, 2026, the author has already published a compatible file: 1.5.0, from October 13, 2026.

Requirements
- Hytale (Early Access) on PC, version 0.6 (file CozyTalesFishing-1.5.0.jar)
- No required dependencies
- Optional: Aetherhaven (fisherman, shop and extra treasure) and MMO Skill Tree & Abilities
How to install it
- Open the Cozy Tales - Fishing page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app, or download CozyTalesFishing-1.5.0.jar from the Files tab (the file tagged 0.6).
- If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into your mods folder: on Windows, %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
- Open Hytale, right-click the world, tick Cozy Tales - Fishing in the mod list and save the world settings.
- On a dedicated server, put the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
- In-game, craft the fishing bench and a rod, look for a fish shadow in the water and cast near it.

Common problems
Do I need Aetherhaven?
No. It's optional: if you have it, a fisherman appears with a fishing shop, prices and extra sunken treasure rewards.
What are glowing fishing spots?
New in 1.4.0: special areas that give 4 to 6 catches, rarer fish, more treasure and messages in bottles. They appear even if you're not holding your rod.
Does it work on servers?
Yes: the fishing journal includes server leaderboards.
What is the fish processor for?
It turns your catches into raw fish meat and scales.
