What this mod does
Homesteadin, by KiriOfTheWoods, is a cooking and farm-life mod for anyone who wants eating in Hytale to be more than just restoring health. It adds 90 recipes, 3 fruit trees, 5 crop bushes and 3 new crops, with dishes that could exist in a medieval kitchen. Version 3.2.2, from August 28, 2026, is released for Update 6 (0.6).
What it adds
- Crafting stations: prep station, chef’s stove and oven, spice drying rack, hand mill, butter churn, juice press, fermentation baskets and barrels, still, beehives, well and composter.
- Crops: barley, beans, sugar cane, blueberries, grapes, tea, hops and lemon, orange and peach trees.
- Dishes: omelets, porridge, risotto, chili, soups, wraps, croissants, crepes, jams and cakes, plus juices, herbal teas, coffee, tea, wines and spirits.
- Kitchen furniture: countertops, a sink, open shelves and an icebox.
Ingredient buffs
Each ingredient type gives an effect: cooked meat and legumes regenerate health, vegetables raise max health, fruit regenerates stamina, sweets give speed, grains give defense and spices regenerate mana. Drinks last longer than food, and raw meat can poison you.
Before you install it
It requires the Patchly library. The author warns that a full overhaul of the mod is in the works and that animal husbandry will come later.
Checked on October 20, 2026: the author hasn’t yet released a file on CurseForge tagged for Hytale 0.7 (Update 7). We’ll check again and update this page as soon as it’s out.

Common problems
The world won't load or the mod's items are missing
Check that Patchly is installed and enabled: Homesteadin needs it.
Why is a meal hurting me?
Raw meat causes food poisoning (you lose half a heart every 2 seconds for 30 seconds). Cook it first.
The sink doesn't always fill up
The author has it listed as a pending bug on their to-do list.
Can I combine it with Dynamic Seasons?
Yes: in version 6.1.2, Dynamic Seasons added a sugar cane compatible with Homesteadin's juice press.
