What this mod does
Patchly is a library that lets mods modify the game’s JSON files without rewriting them entirely. On its own it changes nothing: you install it because another mod needs it.
What it’s for
If two mods overwrite the same file, for example a helmet’s stats, the last one to load wipes out the other’s changes. With Patchly, each mod writes only the difference in a .patch file and the library merges it with the original on startup, so changes from several mods can coexist. It supports priorities, conditions based on the installed packs and hot reloading.
Which mods require it
- Required: Dynamic Seasons and Homesteadin.
- Bundled inside the mod itself: Stunning Combat and Endgame & QoL.
- Optional: Arcane Power and Battle Gauntlets.
Version and compatibility
It’s compatible with Hytalor and Zima, the other patching libraries, although the author advises against using all three at once. If several mods ship their own copy, only the newest one takes effect. Version 3.6.1 (September 3, 2026) is the last file tagged for 0.6. Version 3.6.2, from September 30, already announces compatibility with Update 7 (released October 12, 2026) with no breaking changes; even so, back up your world before updating the game.
Checked on October 20, 2026: the author hasn’t published a file tagged for Hytale 0.7 (Update 7) on CurseForge yet. The latest version is 3.6.2 (September 30, 2026), with no game version tag. We’ll check again and update this page as soon as it’s out.

Highlights and things to keep in mind
- Stops mods that touch the same files from overwriting each other
- Already prepared for Update 7 in version 3.6.2
- Open source (MIT) and very lightweight
- Does nothing on its own
- Version 3.6.2 shows up on CurseForge with the generic Early Access tag, not 0.6
- Using it alongside both Hytalor and Zima isn't guaranteed to work
Requirements
- Hytale (Early Access) on PC or server, version 0.6 (file Patchly-3.6.1.jar or 3.6.2)
- Java 25 on the server (required since 3.5.1)
- No dependencies
- A mod that uses it, such as Dynamic Seasons or Homesteadin, to notice any effect
How to install it
- Open the Patchly page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app, or download Patchly-3.6.1.jar (or the newer 3.6.2) from the Files tab (the file tagged 0.6). If you install a mod that needs it from the app, it downloads automatically.
- If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into your mods folder: on Windows, %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
- Also install the mod that requires it, for example Dynamic Seasons or Homesteadin.
- Open Hytale, right-click the world, tick Patchly and the mod that uses it in the mod list, and save the world settings.
- On a dedicated server, put the files in the server's mods folder and restart it.

Common problems
Do I need Patchly if no mod asks for it?
No. It adds nothing on its own; you only need it when another mod lists it as a dependency.
Can it coexist with Hytalor or Zima?
Yes, it's compatible with both, but the author doesn't guarantee everything works with all three at once and recommends sticking with Patchly alone.
A mod bundles Patchly and I've also installed it separately, is that a problem?
Not in normal play: each copy reports its version and only the newest one takes effect. The author's warning about duplicate copies is meant for mod development servers.
Will it work with Update 7?
Version 3.6.2 (September 30, 2026) already declares Update 7 compatibility with no breaking changes, according to its changelog.
Mods that need Patchly
