What this mod does
Hexcode offers a different kind of magic: you don’t learn fixed spells, you draw glyphs and link them by dragging to form hexes. Its motto sums it up: magic is science that hasn’t been explained yet.
How it works
- Each glyph is one piece of the spell. Combining Self, Number, Explode and Projectile, for example, gives you a fireball; other combinations give different results.
- The interface is almost entirely in-world; a menu only appears when needed.
- You progress based on what you know and how well you apply it, not through arbitrary limits. Exploring Orbis, you’ll find ready-made spells and mysteries.
- The Heart of Orbis lets you review what you’ve learned, and there are staffs, pedestals and obelisks.
Version and add-ons
Version 0.10.0 adapted it to Update 6 (rotatable spells and spherical, cubic or cylindrical areas that grow to full size), and 0.10.1 (August 29, 2026) fixes block erosion and removes the spell duration limit. It’s still a beta. Other authors have created add-ons such as Hexcode Evoke (constructs), Arcane Relays and Vox Magica (voice-cast glyphs). The full glyph list is in its official documentation (docs.hexcodec.com).
File for Hytale 0.6. With Update 7, released October 12, 2026, the author has already published a compatible file: 0.11.2 (tagged as beta), from October 19, 2026; since it’s a beta, try it on a test world first.

- Reading the official documentation (docs.hexcodec.com) to learn the glyphs is recommended

Common problems
Does it come with ready-made spells?
You'll find some by exploring Orbis, but the fun of the mod is creating your own by linking glyphs.
Where can I see all the glyphs?
In the official documentation, docs.hexcodec.com; the CurseForge page doesn't list them.
Is it stable?
All its versions are released as betas, so it may have bugs. Back up your world before using it.
Are there add-ons?
Yes, from other authors: Hexcode Evoke, Arcane Relays, More Magic Spells, Vox Magica and Magic-By-Cosmetics, among others.
