MMO Mob Scaling for Hytale

What this mod does
MMO Mob Scaling is the difficulty companion to MMO Skill Tree. It makes hostile open-world monsters scale on their own, without placing spawners by hand, so the challenge grows along with your character.
Three layers of difficulty
- Zone and biome: each zone in the game has a minimum, with a gentle ramp-up at the start.
- Distance: beyond a configurable radius, the farther you are from spawn, the tougher they get.
- Group power: it takes into account the combat level, stats and skills of nearby players.
Rarities and affixes
Monsters can spawn as rare, epic, legendary or boss, with a colored name, higher stats and better loot. They also get affixes: armored, unstoppable, swift, vampiric or freezing. An on-screen card shows the zone’s difficulty and another one lets you inspect each enemy.
It runs server-side only, works in existing worlds and alongside other content mods. It comes with four presets (normal, casual, hard and testing). Version 1.2.0 (September 12) excludes scripted bosses from scaling.
This mod page was checked with Hytale 0.6 (Update 6). With Update 7 (0.7), released on October 12, 2026, the mod will need an update: don’t use it in an important world until the author releases a file tagged for the new version.

Common problems
Do players need to install it?
No. It runs server-side only; in a single-player game, having it in your mods folder is enough.
Can I make it easier?
Yes. It comes with casual, normal and hard presets, and all the configuration is in mods/MmoMobScaling/.
Does it affect dungeon bosses?
Since 1.2.0, scripted bosses and their minions are excluded: they don't get rarity or affixes.
