What this mod does
MMO Skill Tree Taming Skill Pack brings together two very popular mods: the MMO Skill Tree skill system and the animal husbandry of Alec’s Animal Husbandry. When both are installed, a new skill appears, Taming, which you level up by caring for animals.
How you earn XP
- Feeding and watering your animals: steady progress.
- Collecting their products: a bigger reward.
- Breeding: the biggest source of XP.
- Fighting alongside them: very little, so abusing it isn’t worth it.
Progression
It includes three story quests (First Bond, Caretaker and Beastmaster), daily breeding and care quests, weekly goals, automatic upgrades at levels 15, 50 and 100, and achievement chains. Admins can change how much XP each action gives in mods/mmoskilltree/xp-maps.json.
If Alec’s Animal Husbandry is missing, all the content stays hidden and the pack doesn’t get in the way. Version 1.2.1 (September 12) adds images to the quests and requires MMO Skill Tree 1.6.1 and CommonLib 2.1.0 or later.
This mod page has been reviewed for Hytale 0.7 (Update 7). With Update 7 (0.7), released on October 12, 2026, the author has already released a file for the new version: 1.2.3, from October 16, 2026.

Requirements
- Hytale (Early Access) on PC, version 0.6 (file MMOSkillTamingPack-1.2.3.zip)
- MMO Skill Tree & Abilities 1.6.1 or later (required)
- Ziggfreed's CommonLib 2.1.0 or later (required)
- Alec's Animal Husbandry, with its base Alec's Tamework, for the skill to appear
How to install it
- Open the MMO Skill Tree Taming Skill Pack page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app, or download MMOSkillTamingPack-1.2.3.zip from the Files tab (the file tagged 0.6).
- If you download it manually, copy the file as is, without unzipping it, into the mods folder: on Windows, %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods.
- Also install MMO Skill Tree & Abilities (1.6.1 or later), Ziggfreed's CommonLib (2.1.0 or later) and Alec's Animal Husbandry with Alec's Tamework, from their CurseForge pages.
- Open Hytale, right-click the world, check MMO Skill Tree Taming Skill Pack in the mod list and save the world settings.
- On a dedicated server, place the file in the server's mods folder and restart it.
- In game, care for and breed animals from Alec's Animal Husbandry and open the MMO Skill Tree menu to see the Taming skill.

Common problems
Does it work without Alec's Animal Husbandry?
You can leave it installed, but the Taming skill and its quests won't appear until you install that mod.
Can I change how much XP each action gives?
Yes. The server admin adjusts it in mods/mmoskilltree/xp-maps.json.
What gives the most XP?
Breeding animals. Feeding and watering gives a little but steadily, and combat gives almost nothing.
