What this mod does

Flower Dancing, by kelly2892, fixes one of the most talked-about moments in the game: at the Flower Dance, the farmer just crouches while everyone else dances. With this mod you actually dance and you’re dressed for the occasion.

The two parts of the mod

  • Flower Dancing (SMAPI): changes the choreography so the player copies the NPCs’ steps.
  • Flower Dance Attire (Content Patcher): dresses the farmer in a formal suit or gown, only during the festival.

Configuration

The option to remove your clothes when the dance starts (shirt, pants, shoes and hat) is on by default and can be turned off; the suit or gown is picked based on the base sprite. Everything is changed in config.json or with Generic Mod Config Menu. NPCs only dress up if you use a seasonal outfits mod; for that there are optional patches that limit those mods to the day of the dance.

Requirements and compatibility

It requires SMAPI and Content Patcher. Version 1.4.0 (November 5, 2024, 272 KB) is updated for 1.6.9. The author tested it with three players dancing at once with no problems. Get Glam is completely incompatible, and it may clash with mods that heavily change the festival or the player’s look that day. The player dances slightly faster than the NPCs.
