What this mod does
RTGOAT’s Longevity is one of the oldest Stardew Valley mods (it came out in 2016) and aims to make your save last longer by making the economy more demanding. It’s for anyone who feels the money comes in too fast.
What it changes
- Taxes on the first day of each season: income (progressive), property, machines and sprinklers. If you can’t pay, the debt rolls over to the next season with a 5% surcharge.
- Dynamic prices based on the season, your skill level, friendship with the villagers, a daily fluctuation and saturation from selling lots of the same thing.
- A random subsidized crop each season, with a tax break if you grow enough of it.
- Flower honey with variable prices and beehives that help crop prices recover.
- Higher energy costs for tools and, if you want, for the fishing rod, the scythe and weapons.
Requirements and configuration
It requires SMAPI, and Generic Mod Config Menu is recommended because almost everything is adjustable. The ~ key opens a menu with taxes and prices. Version 2.1.7 (May 10, 2026, 82 KB) is for 1.6; for 1.5.6 the older version is still available under Old files. The description lists Spanish among its languages.
