What this mod does
Yet Another Fishing Mod (YAFM), by NeverToxic, is a fishing tweaks mod. It works both for players who find the minigame too hard and for those who want to fine-tune it: every option is separate and you turn them on one by one.
Main options
- Minigame: skip it after a certain number of catches, change the difficulty, the catch speed and the size of the green bar.
- Catches: chance of fish or trash, quantity and minimum quality, and treasure frequency.
- Animations: instant bite, auto reel-in, fast animations and auto-cast with a single key.
- Rod: more attachments, bait and tackle that never run out, and enchantments.
Some options are clearly overpowered; use them sparingly if you want to keep the challenge.
Requirements and compatibility
It requires SMAPI 4.1 or later, and Generic Mod Config Menu is highly recommended to configure it. Version 1.2.0 (November 18, 2024, 42 KB) is updated for 1.6.9 and later. It works in single player and multiplayer; split screen hasn’t been tested.
It should work with modded fish and bait if they’re properly defined, but not with custom enchantments. There’s a community Spain Spanish translation. It pairs well with Fishing Info Overlays.

Requirements
- Stardew Valley 1.6.9 or later (PC)
- SMAPI 4.1 or later
- Highly recommended: Generic Mod Config Menu 1.12 or later
How to install it
- Install SMAPI first (see its page) and launch the game once with it to make sure it works.
- Also install Generic Mod Config Menu (highly recommended) to turn each option on from in-game.
- Open the Yet Another Fishing Mod page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Yet Another Fishing Mod 1.2.0). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
- Launch the game with SMAPI and, in the mod menu, enable only the fishing options you want to use.

Common problems
Does it make fishing automatic?
Only if you turn that on. Every option is separate, so you can, for example, just lower the difficulty.
Does it work in multiplayer?
Yes, since 1.0.1. Split screen hasn't been tested.
Is it in Spanish?
