What this mod does
Stardrop, by PeacefulEnd (Floogen), isn’t a mod you install in the Mods folder: it’s an open-source Mod Manager for Stardew Valley that works alongside SMAPI. It helps you organize long mod lists without moving folders by hand.
What it offers
- Mod profiles, for example one for solo play and another for a multiplayer save, with export and import.
- Enable and disable mods without touching the original folder.
- Update checks through SMAPI, with warnings about incompatible mods and detection of new SMAPI versions.
- Nexus Mods integration: endorse mods, download links and collections.
- Per-mod notes, grouping, filters and light and dark themes.
Requirements and compatibility
You need to have SMAPI installed. Version 1.10.4 (September 23, 2026) has files for Windows (40.9 MB), Linux and macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon). One-click updates and automatic collection downloads require Nexus Premium; manual downloads work with a free account.
The interface includes a Spanish translation. Because it isn’t signed, your antivirus or macOS may show a warning; the author says it’s a false positive.

Highlights and things to keep in mind
- Profiles to switch mod lists in seconds
- Update alerts and incompatible mod warnings
- Free, open source and available in Spanish
- Windows, macOS and Linux
- One-click updates require Nexus Premium
- No digital signature: it may trigger false positives or get blocked on macOS
- It doesn't replace SMAPI: you need to have it installed
Requirements
- Stardew Valley 1.6.x with SMAPI 4.x installed
- Windows, macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon) or Linux
- Nexus Mods account for the integration (Premium for one-click updates)
How to install it
- Install SMAPI first (see its mod page) and launch the game with it once to make sure it works.
- Open the Stardrop page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the file for your system (Stardrop - Windows, Linux, macOS or macOS (ARM), version 1.10.4). You need a free Nexus account to download.
- Unzip the .zip into a folder of your choice, outside the Mods folder (Stardrop isn't a mod and doesn't go inside the game folder).
- Run Stardrop.exe on Windows. On macOS, if the system blocks it, go to Security & Privacy and click Open Anyway.
- In View > Settings, click the folder icon next to SMAPI Path and select the StardewModdingAPI executable in the game folder.
- Add mods with File > Add Mod or by dragging their .zip files onto the list, and launch the game with the pufferfish icon (or File > Start SMAPI).

Common problems
Does it go in the Mods folder?
No. Stardrop is a separate program: unzip it to any folder and point it to where SMAPI is.
Do I need Nexus Premium?
Only to update mods with one click and download collections automatically. Everything else works without Premium.
Will I lose my mods if I uninstall it?
No. According to its documentation it doesn't alter SMAPI, the game or your original mods folder.
