What this mod does

Yet Another Harvest With Scythe Mod lets you harvest all crops, including seasonal ones, and forage with the scythe. In the base game the scythe only works on a few crops, so harvesting a big field takes one click per plant; with this mod you just swing the scythe. You can keep picking them by hand without changing anything.

Options

  • HarvestWithSword: use a sword as a scythe (off by default).
  • HarvestAllForage: the scythe also collects forage that isn’t on tilled soil.
  • PluckingScythe, PluckableCrops, ScythableCrops, Flowers and Forage: decide what gets picked by hand, with which scythe (Golden or Iridium), or both ways.

Compatibility

Version 7.5 (March 2, 2025) was built with SMAPI 4.1.10 and Stardew Valley 1.6.15, and it needs StardewHack. It doesn’t modify your saves: if you remove it, you go back to the normal behavior.

Known issues

It’s incompatible with Tractor Mod, and the author says there’s no fix; probably with Don’t Stop Me Now too. If you use the sword on grass, you don’t get hay. There’s a Spanish translation by Gonzy42 on Nexus.

Requirements

Install first: SMAPI (Stardew Modding API) StardewHack Generic Mod Config Menu (optional, to configure it in-game)

How to install it

  1. Install SMAPI first (see its mod page) and launch the game once with it to make sure it works.
  2. Download and install StardewHack from its Nexus page (mod 3213) the same way, into the Mods folder.
  3. Open the Yet Another Harvest With Scythe Mod page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Harvest With Scythe 7.5). You need a free Nexus account to download.
  4. Extract the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
  5. Launch the game with SMAPI, equip the scythe and swing it over a ripe crop to check that it gets harvested.

Common problems

Does it work with Tractor Mod?

No. The author says they're incompatible and there's no fix.

Can I still harvest by hand?

Yes. By default, crops can be picked by hand or with the scythe.

Does it change my save?

No. If you remove it, the game goes back to working as usual.
