StardewHack for Stardew Valley

What this mod does

StardewHack, by bcmpinc, is a library that applies small changes to the game’s code in a way that holds up across updates, and that warns you clearly when a change no longer fits. bcmpinc’s mods pass their changes to it and StardewHack applies them. It’s kept separate so there’s only one copy and no version conflicts. On its own it does almost nothing.

Which mods need it

• Bigger Backpack and Wear More Rings.
• Yet Another Harvest With Scythe.
• Always Scroll Map, Fix Animal Tool Animations, Flexible Arms, Grass Growth, Movement Speed, Tilled Soil Decay and Tree Spread.

Requirements and compatibility

It needs SMAPI; Generic Mod Config Menu is optional for configuring its mods in-game. Version 7.4 (November 6, 2024, 33 KB) is compiled with SMAPI 4.1.3 for 1.6.11, and the update to 1.6 arrived in 7.0. It’s free software (LGPL v3).

Android: the author says it isn’t supported and there are no plans to support it, although it may work if the game launches without errors. There’s a Spanish translation by Gonzy42 on Nexus, and bugs are reported on GitHub.

Requirements

• Stardew Valley 1.6.11 or later (PC)
• SMAPI 4.1.3 or later
• Generic Mod Config Menu (optional)

How to install it

1. Install SMAPI first (see its mod page) and launch the game with it once to make sure it works.
2. Open the StardewHack page on Nexus Mods, go to the Files tab and click Manual download on the main file (Stardew Hack 7.4). You need a free Nexus account to download.
3. Unzip the .zip outside the game folder and move the resulting folder into the Mods folder, inside the game folder.
4. Install the bcmpinc mod that needs it (for example, Bigger Backpack) and launch the game with SMAPI.
