What this mod does

ACEvoPerf is a performance mod for Assetto Corsa EVO 0.9 and later. It’s the top-rated tool in OverTake’s EVO section: 34 ratings, all five stars. Its author, ecstra, developed it on a laptop with a 6 GB RTX 3060, and other users have tested it with cards ranging from an RTX 2060 to an RX 6600, and even on Linux with Proton.

What it fixes

  • Game crashes at launch and when changing car or track.
  • Missing icons in the garage and menus.
  • Blurry textures on asphalt, tires, grass and trackside screens.
  • Slow menus, stutters and uneven frame pacing.
  • A memory leak when going from one track to another.

What it adds

It enables NVIDIA Reflex to reduce input lag, raises the game’s priority on the CPU and GPU, and uses a newer version of DirectStorage. All settings are in the acevo_perf.ini file, with a note on each option.

How it works

It replaces a single game file, dstorage.dll, which forwards calls to Microsoft’s DirectStorage and adjusts how much video memory is reserved for textures based on your card and resolution. It doesn’t touch the game’s content package. To get sharper textures, the author recommends setting texture quality to Ultra.

Common problems

How do I uninstall it?

Delete dstorage.dll, the files starting with acevo_ and dstorage_orig.dll if it exists, then verify the integrity of the game files in Steam. Without that last step the game won't start.

Does it work with modded tracks?

Not yet. The author warns that joining a session with community tracks may cause a crash.

Do I need to reinstall it after a patch?

Yes, if the game update replaces dstorage.dll.
