Yes, but not out of the box. As of October 23, 2026, Assetto Corsa EVO has Valve’s «Playable» rating for Steam Deck: the default controls work and show the console’s button icons, but Valve notes that the default settings don’t perform well (you have to lower graphics manually), that some text is small, and that the on-screen keyboard doesn’t pop up automatically. The game is in Early Access (version 0.9), Windows only, and runs on the Deck through Proton; car mods (.kspkg) go in Saved Games/ACE/mods inside the Proton prefix.

What settings should you use?
Neither KUNOS nor Valve publishes graphics settings for the Steam Deck, so we won’t give you made-up numbers. The only official info is Valve’s warning: with the game’s default settings it doesn’t run well, and you’ll need to lower quality in the video options until you find a balance. On ProtonDB, other players share their settings, but those are personal experiences, not official recommendations. To save battery you can cap FPS from the Quick Access menu (··· button), under Performance.
About storage: Steam asks for 100 GB free and an SSD. The Deck’s internal storage on NVMe models is an SSD; a microSD card isn’t, so the safe bet is installing EVO on internal storage. At 100 GB, it takes up almost half the space on a 256 GB model.
How to install Assetto Corsa EVO mods on Steam Deck
EVO doesn’t use Content Manager or Custom Shaders Patch, which are for the original Assetto Corsa. Cars made with KUNOS’s official editor are packaged as a .kspkg file that you copy into the mods folder in your user folder. On Windows that’s Saved Games > ACE > mods; on the Deck, that folder is inside the game’s Proton prefix:
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3058630/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games/ACE/mods
- Switch to Desktop Mode: Steam button, Power menu, Switch to Desktop.
- Download the car from its author’s page. If it comes as a .zip, extract it with Ark until you have the .kspkg.
- In Dolphin, press Ctrl + H to show hidden folders and go to the path above. If the mods folder doesn’t exist, create it.
- Copy the .kspkg straight into mods, with no subfolders, and go back to Game Mode.
- Find the car in vehicle selection.
The compatdata folder is created the first time you launch the game; if you installed EVO in a different library, it’s inside that library.
Mod limitations on the Deck
- Windows tools. Liveries are made with programs like LiveryLab Evo or FORC3 Designer, and HUD apps with ACE UI App Loader. These are Windows tools: on the Deck you’d have to get them running through Proton yourself. The easy part is .kspkg cars.
- Early Access patches. A car mod can stop working after an update; check the author’s page after every patch.
- Online. Since 0.8, SDK cars can be used in multiplayer, but only on servers that have the same car.
- Performance. A highly detailed car mod is heavier than an official one; if you’ve already pushed your graphics settings to the limit, you’ll notice it.
