As of October 23, 2026, Assetto Corsa EVO asks for 100 GB of free space on Steam and requires an SSD, in both the minimum and recommended requirements. It’s in Early Access (version 0.9), so the figure may change with every update: 0.10 is announced for December 9, 2026. It only exists on PC; there’s no PS5 or Xbox version. For now, mods are tiny next to the game: car mods are around 100-300 MB.

Why does it require an SSD?
Kunos writes «SSD required» in the notes for both requirement tiers. It isn’t a suggestion: on a mechanical hard drive you can get very long load times, stutters while textures load and problems in Free Roam. Install it on an SSD, even if the rest of your library is on an HDD.
How much space AC EVO mods take up
Mod support is recent and there are still few cars and tools, but there are already examples with their size listed on their Holymod pages:

Even if you install a dozen car mods, you’re looking at 1-3 GB: not much next to the game’s 100 GB. What you do need to watch is free space for Early Access updates, which are big.
Where mods and setups are stored
- Mods (.kspkg cars and apps): Saved Games\ACE\mods. Create it if it doesn’t exist; it doesn’t go in the Steam folder.
- Setups: Saved Games\ACE\Car Setups.
Since mods live in your user folder and not the game folder, you don’t lose them when you verify or reinstall from Steam.
How to free up space
- Delete the .kspkg files of cars you no longer use from ACE\mods, and the .zip files after extracting them.
- If you need room for an update, move other games to an HDD and keep AC EVO on the SSD.
- Don’t delete files from the install folder by hand: use Verify files on Steam if something goes wrong.
Compared with other modding games
AC EVO is by far the most demanding of all the games we cover on Holymod, and the only one besides Hytale that requires an SSD.

How to move it to another SSD
If your main SSD runs short, add another SSD as a Steam library (Settings, Storage) and move the game from Properties, Installed Files, Move install folder. Mods and setups stay in Saved Games\ACE, so you don’t need to touch them.
