What this mod does

This mod by itsloopyo adds head tracking to Assetto Corsa EVO without needing a VR headset. The camera moves with your head while the car, physics and controls stay the same. That way you can look toward the apex, peek around a pillar or check your mirrors with a natural movement.

• Compatible with any source that speaks the OpenTrack protocol: neural-network webcam tracking, TrackIR, Tobii or a phone app.

How it works

The mod only receives your head position over UDP on port 4242. A tracker like OpenTrack is what calculates and sends it. If you use your phone, you send the data to your PC’s IP on the local network and allow UDP in the firewall. End or Ctrl+Shift+Y toggles tracking on and off, and Page Up switches between rotation plus position, rotation only or position only.

Safety

On launch, it checks the game executable. If it doesn’t recognize the version, it stays inactive and EVO works as usual, which avoids problems after a patch. Although EVO already includes TrackIR, the author keeps it going because it supports network connections and more cameras. It’s open source under the MIT license.

Requirements

• Assetto Corsa EVO on Steam, compatible version
• 64-bit Windows 10 or 11
• OpenTrack or a compatible tracker (webcam, TrackIR, Tobii or phone app)

How to install it

1. Download the ZIP from OverTake.gg and extract it outside the game folder.
2. Run install.cmd; it detects your Steam installation or lets you enter the path.
3. Open the game once: HeadTracking.ini and a log file should appear next to AssettoCorsaEVO.exe.
4. In OpenTrack, choose your tracker as input and "UDP over network" as output.
5. Set the output to 127.0.0.1, port 4242.
6. Once on track, use End to toggle tracking on or off.
